Biographical Overview

Brandon Criss is a fourth generation Siskiyou County farmer.  He and his wife, Kerry, raise their two children on the ranch he grew up on in Butte Valley.  Brandon has been a volunteer firefighter with the Butte Valley Fire Department since 2005 and in 2006 also became an Emergency Medical Responder volunteering with the Butte Valley Volunteer Ambulance Service.  Through these experiences Brandon learned the true value of the County's law enforcement, fire and emergency services.

Criss earned a Bachelors Degree from Eastern Oregon University with an emphasis on economic and political science.  He later earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Norwich University.  His Master's thesis was titiled: "Striking a Balance between Rural and Urban California".   It regarded greater local control and in part discussed "Coordination" which involves laws reaffirming local control.  Brandon served as a Legislative Aide to Oregon State Senator Doug Whitsett in 2010.  While a Legislative Aide, Brandon analyzed copious amounts of legislative bills, policy initiatives, staff and budget reports.  Criss is also a graduate of Leadership Siskiyou County and has been an active community leader.
