Modoc County Office of Education - Early Head Start
offers families comprehensive child development services for pregnant mothers and children from newborns to 3 years old.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
WIC is a temporary assistance program for pregnant and breast-feeding women, infants and children up to five years of age, who have special nutritional needs. WIC provides nutrition education to help improve eating habits, and dispenses supplemental food vouchers to buy specific foods important for good health. Childhood immunizations are also available at most WIC clinics, in addition to breastfeeding education and support.

California’s Healthy Families
is low cost insurance for children and teens. It provides health, dental and vision coverage to children who do not have insurance and do not qualify for free Medi-Cal.
