Compromise of Arrears Program (COAP)
You may qualify to reduce your child support arrears owed to the
government through the Compromise of Arrears Program (COAP).
COAP is a program designed to help non-custodial parents reduce
their child support debt either by making a lump sum payment or by
making monthly payments for up to 3 years.
Child support arrears owed to the government may be reduced if your child support case meets certain criteria. Any reduction in your arrears will be based on your income, assets and expenses.
