Siskiyou County Maintains and Operates Five County Airports:

Weed Airport

General Information: Airport Classification - General Aviation, Elevation - 2,938 ft. MSL, Access - Via Weed Airport Rd. and at Edgewood Road exit from I5. Services - Fuel: 100LL and Jet A (self service), Airport Parking Capacity - 15 individual hangar units and 34 marked tie down spots on paved apron, Visual Aids Navigation - Rotating beacon at Airport, Runway 14 VASI (3.0 degrees), Runway 32: VASI (3.0 degrees).

Approach Protection: Runway Protection Zones - Runway 14 is 1,000 feet long and all on airport property with no obstacles, Runway 32 is 1,000 feet long and inner 700 +- feet on airport property with power line obstacle.

Runway/Taxiway Design (Runway 14-32): Critical Aircraft - Light twin, Classification - Airport Reference Code B-1, Dimensions - 5,000 ft long and 60 ft wide asphalt, Pavement Strength - Est. 12,500 lbs. for aircraft with single-wheel main landing gear, Average Gradient - 0.7% (high end on south), Lighting - Medium intensity (pilot controlled), Primary Taxiways - Full length parallel on west.

Services - One fixed base operator provides: Fuel: 100LL (self service), Jet A on request, Helicopter instruction, charter, rides Airport Parking Capacity - hangar spaces for 25 +- aircraft, approximately 20 tie down spaces on apron, Visual Aids Navigation - Rotating beacon at Airport, Runway 17: none, Runway 35: approach lights (SSALR). Major Facility - Fire Attack Base.

Approach Protection: Runway Protection Zones - Runway 17 is 1,700 feet long and inner 600 +- feet on airport with no obstacles, Runway 35 is 1,700 feet long and 1,600 +- feet on airport property with no obstacles.

Services - Fuel: 100LL (self service), Airport Parking Capacity - 14 individual hangar units and 12 marked tie down spots on paved apron plus several unmarked spaces on or adjacent to apron, Visual Aids Navigation - Rotating beacon at Airport, Runway 16 none, Runway 34 none. Major Facilities: U.S. Forest Service Helitac Base.

Approach Protection: Runway Protection Zones - Runway 16 is 1,000 feet long and inner 100 feet on airport property with trees obstacles, Runway 34 is 1,000 feet long and none on airport property with trees and fence obstacles.

Runway/Taxiway Design (Runway 16-34): Critical Aircraft - Light twin, Classification - Airport Reference Code B-1 (small), Dimensions - 3,700 ft long and 50 ft wide, Runway 34 threshold displaced 200 feet, Pavement Strength - Est. 30,000 lbs. for aircraft with single-wheel main landing gear, Average Gradient - <0.1%, Lighting - Medium intensity edge lighting (pilot activated), Primary Taxiways - Turn around area at each end of runway, no taxiways except for apron access.

Major Facilities: U.S. Forest Service Helitac Base.

Approach Protection: Runway Protection Zones - Runway 4 is 1,000 feet long and inner 400 feet on airport property with fence and trees obstacles, Runway 22 is 1,000 feet long and inner 500 feet on airport property with trees obstacles.

Butte Valley Airport

Services - none, Airport Parking Capacity - no hangar spaces and 6 tie down spaces on apron, Visual Aids Navigation - Rotating beacon at Airport, Runway 16 none, Runway 34 none.

Approach Protection: Runway Protection Zones - Runway 16 is 1,000 feet long and inner 300 feet on airport property with road obstacles, Runway 34 is 1,000 feet long and inner 150 feet on airport property with tree obstacle.
