Strengthening Family, Building Community.
Strengthening families, building communities is both our mission and
our passion. We believe that only through building strong families
will our community continue to prosper and be the place generations
have come to appreciate in Siskiyou County. The quality of life we
enjoy in Siskiyou County is not just because of its natural beauty
but also because of the character of people that make up our
community. Our commitment is to work with this end in mind, to
provide services that address some of the core social issues that
affect the whole well being of the Siskiyou County population.
We currently administer all of the basic public assistance programs
which include Medi-Cal, CalFresh, CalWORKs, and the Employment
and Training Services. We also administer the Children’s Protective
Services program, In-Home Supportive Services program, the Adult
Protective Services program, and the Public Guardian program. We
believe in collaboration and in working with our county-wide network
of ten Family Resource Centers. Our connection with the FRCs
increases our ability to reach out to our community and more
effectively connect in the large rural area that Siskiyou County
encompasses.
Employment and Temporary Assistance Services (ETAS) is responsible
for providing benefits for families in Siskiyou County. The primary
public assistance programs administered by ETAS staff are California
Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs), CalFresh, Medi-Cal, County Medical Services Program (CMSP), and General
Assistance (GA). In addition, staff is responsible for the
administration of numerous subsidiary programs such as: Homeless
Assistance, Diversion, Transitional Medi-Cal, and Stage 1 Child
Care.
