PROPERTY STATEMENT E-FILING

E-FILING FOR AGRICULTURAL OPERATIONS IS HERE FOR 2010-2011!

Annual Agricultural Property Statements (Form 571-F) can now be prepared and submitted electronically to the Siskiyou County Assessor's Office at no charge through a secure process. We are currently developing an application to accommodate e-filing of Business Property Statements (Form 571-L), however, the process will not be available until next year (2011-2012).

To proceed with e-filing beyond this point, you are required to have a unique Business Identification Number (BIN) provided by the Assessor's Office. The BIN is considered to be your electronic signature, which satisfies the requirements of Government Code Section 16.5. To obtain a BIN, please call our Personal Property Division at (530) 842-8051 with your 12-digit Assessment Number, and the BIN will be provided to you over the phone and/or sent to you by mail (we are unable to provide via e-mail as it is a non-secure method of communication).

We hope you find this process a welcome change from the monotony of completing your annual property statement by hand. The program guides you through the electronic 571-F with the assistance of various help screens and reminders. You will be able to leave and return to the electronic statement as many times as you like for completion and/or correction, until being "Final Filed" with our office. Amendments after final filing are still possible, but will require that we provide you with a new BIN.  Please note that while some fields may not be applicable to you, the program still requires an entry.  Simply insert an X, space or 0 (zero) to proceed.
