Meetings are open to the public and are held on the third Monday of every month alternating the meeting location between Yreka and Mt. Shasta. Call 841-4100 or 800-842-8979 for more information.

Mental Health Boards are established in state law. Among other duties, the board is responsible for reviewing and evaluating the community’s mental health needs, services, special problems and facilities for advising the county governing body and local mental health director regarding the mental health program. In addition, the board has the authority to review any county agreements entered into pursuant to Section 5650, the annual county mental health services performance contract, which includes requirements necessary for Medi-Cal reimbursement for mental health services.

The Siskiyou County Behavioral Health Services Board is comprised of 15 members, three from each of the five supervisorial districts. Membership is at least 50 percent consumers. Members are appointed by the Board of Supervisors for a three year term that expires in December, with membership expiring in staggered years. This board’s public meetings are held the third Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m., alternating the site between Yreka and Mt. Shasta.

The activities are centered  both regionally and statewide, as mandated by the clients of the state in the reorganization plan.
