HISTORIC AND PROJECTED POPULATION DATA FOR
SISKIYOU COUNTY

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, at the time of the 2000 Census, the population of the entire County was 44,301, which was an increase of 770 persons since the 1990 Census. During that same period, the population of the unincorporated areas grew by 545 persons to 23,686, or by approximately 2.4 percent. While this is considered to be relatively slow growth for a population of the size of Siskiyou County's, it was still more than twice that experienced within the incorporated communities as a whole, (1.1 percent combined). Over the past ten years, the difference in growth rates between the incorporated and unincorporated portions of the County has grown even larger. Based on the most recent DOF estimates, the population of the unincorporated areas has grown by 7.0 percent between 2000 and 2009 while the population of the incorporated areas grew by only one-tenth of one percent.
