Our run is still and will always be about showing our gratitude to those who have and are serving our nation in the military and throughout the nation in law enforcement. Vets and Cops is what we're all about and we honor those that paid the ultimate sacrifice not for how they died but for how they lived. Come ride with us and honor those men and women we Americans call heroes.
Registration fee of $25 per bike, $5 more if you have a passenger, will get you an outstanding riders breakfast [donations for the breakfast are appreciated for the local volunteer fire departments] prepared by our volunteer fire fighters- a custom made Far Side Run pin- lunch in the historic western town of Callahan- and a scenic motorcycle ride thru Siskiyou County that you'll not soon forget..... we promise you you'll have more fun than you can stuff into your saddlebags!!!!
This event will start at approximately 10am on Saturday, August 30th from the Gary R. Riggins Memorial Armory Building at 1710 Fairlane Road in Yreka, CA. If your are arriving in town the night before the run we recommend the official Far Side Run motels- Baymont Inn & Suites 1-866-692-5955 or the Holiday Inn Express at 1-800-holidayinn.
The Riders Breakfast will be served from approximately 7:30 to 9:30am. The breakfast is free but donations to the Volunteer Firefighters would be appreciated.
Registration is $25 per bike and an additional $5 if you have a passenger. Registration includes the custom made Far Side Run event pin, breakfast, lunch in historic Callahan and the Far Side Run to Mt. Shasta. Event t-shirt sales along with additional Far Side merchandise will be on sale prior to the Run in the armory.
This years run will be approximately 90 miles over Forest Mountain’s 4,000 foot summit, through scenic Scott Valley to the western ‘ghost town’ of Callahan which is set at the base of the Marble Mountain Wilderness Area where lunch will be served. Then the Far Side Run will wind its way up over the many vistas of the Callahan-Gazelle Road back down into the majestic Shasta Valley where riders will be lead through the historic lumber town of Weed then south to the Alpine community of Mt. Shasta. Riders will be accompanied by various law enforcement agencies of Siskiyou County along the route to ensure their upmost safety.
The ride will terminate this year in Mt. Shasta at the annual Cool Mountain Nights Labor Day weekend of special events including the DARE Classic Show and Shine Car Show.
We ride for those hero’s who served in our military and law enforcement agencies around the country who no longer can. Our purpose is to remember them, not for how they died, but for how they lived. God Bless America and those who serve her.
