Siskiyou County Industry Employment -
The U.S. Department of Commerce counts both part-time
and full-time jobs equally. Job growth by industry is
counted by place of work, regardless of where employees
live. Unpaid family workers and volunteers are not
included in the analysis. Job growth by industry sector
is extremely important because it is an indicator of a
healthy economy and it is a measure of economic
diversity. Job growth is also an important indicator for
business and government planning.

Industry
Analysis/Gross County Product - This is an analysis utilizing the latest
statistics available on local industry from Dun & Bradstreet's survey of businesses.
Total sales for the entire county can be considered the total gross county product (shown
in bold). Note that Gross National Product is calculated slightly differently (GNP
measures expenditures for consumer goods, services, commercial and industrial plant
and equipment, government purchases, and net exports), GNP is an attempt to measure the
value of goods produced and sold within the nation. Therefore, total sales for the county
can be considered Gross County Product.
