Online Permitting Portal

Even if you apply for a Building Permit online you will need to provide two hardcopy plan sets for residential and three for commercial before the permit can be issued.  Please deliver to the Building Office.

Building is the most common land development action in Siskiyou County; The following guidelines will assist with the permit application and issuance process. 

Prior to beginning a new single-family dwelling, standalone Accessory Dwelling Units, manufactured homes, commercial or industrial construction projects, please consult with Cal-Fire to confirm that your project site will meet fire response regulations and will be allowed to be built on.

• Upon acceptance of your Complete building permit application, the Building Department will initiate the permit review process. 
• The Building Division will route your permit application and critical plan components to the appropriate agencies, County Departments, and partner cities (Fort Jones, Etna, and Montague) for their review and approval signature for your project. (allow two to three weeks)  
• Complete Plan Package with all agency approvals will be checked in the order in which they are deemed complete.
