County Counsel

The County Counsel is the attorney for the County, tasked with managing the County’s civil law needs.  The role of the County Counsel is to advise the Board of Supervisors, County departments, County officers, its commissions, and certain special districts.  The County Counsel’s office also acts as legal advisor for the Siskiyou County Civil Grand Jury and represents the County in juvenile dependency matters.  The County Counsel’s office is not a public-facing department and its attorneys cannot provide legal advice to members of the public.
