Siskiyou County GIS

GIS (Geographic Information System or Science) is a technology that helps people visualize spatial data to better understand the relationships in the world around them. GIS is more than the data behind a map. It is also an analytical tool that provides insights into patterns, relationships, and situations, to help users make smarter decisions.

Siskiyou County has used GIS software and tools since the 1990s. Recently, the County has implemented improved database abilities and acquired enterprise licensing which allows all county departments to have access to various GIS desktop applications as well as online and mobile applications.

Many projects are under development including web-based maps and search tools which are available on the Maps and Apps page, Siskiyou County's ArcGIS Online Gallery, and Open Data Site which allows users to explore maps, applications, and download various GIS layers.
