BOS Designates April as Child Abuse Prevention, Sexual Assault Awareness Month & April 6-12 as the Week of the Young Child

March 20, 2024 - Siskiyou County, California: In an effort to raise awareness and advocate for the protection of children and victims of sexual assault, the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors officially proclaimed the month of April as Child Abuse Prevention and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Additionally, April 6-12 has been designated as the Week of the Young Child.

This proclamation, initiated by the collaborative efforts of the Siskiyou Domestic Violence & Crisis Center and Siskiyou County First 5, underscores the community's commitment to combatting these critical issues.
