Lifeworks is an outpatient treatment program that includes: client flexible 1.5 hour treatment groups; open access, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am through 5:00 pm; up to six treatment hours per week; life SUD recovery and skill acquisition treatment groups focusing on:

  • Substance Use Disorder Services (SUD)
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Life Skills

 

Substance Use Disorder Services Includes

  • Defining addiction and alcoholism
  • Education on all major substances of abuse
  • Medical consequences of addiction
  • Cognitive re-structuring
  • Re-investing in yourself, your family, and your community
  • How diet affects our cravings for substances
  • Dysfunctional family systems/ACOA
  • Health boundaries, healthy relationships
  • Laws and statistics/cost to you/do I want to stay in "the system"?
  • HIV/STD presentation

Relapse Prevention Includes

  • Stages of change and the slippery slope of addiction/relapse
  • Symptoms of recovery and being patient with the process
  • Identifying compulsion patterns
  • Identifying triggers and cravings
  • Coping skills/dealing with changes in recovery
  • Changing environment/creating new social connections
  • Dealing with strong emotions and resolving resentment
  • Conflict resolution and assertiveness training
  • Re-establishing your role in the family
  • Re-building trust

Life Recovery Includes

  • Communication in recovery
