Business and Professions Code Sections §22350 - §22360

Overview

Process Servers deliver legal documents to individuals involved in a court proceeding.  In California, a process server is defined as any person who makes more than 10 services of process within this state during one calendar year, for specific compensation or in expectation of specific compensation. 

Types of Filings

  • Individual
  • Corporation

Registration Process

  • Complete and sign a Certificate of Registration as a Process Server application
  • Provide a valid government issued photo identification
  • Acquire Live Scan paperwork from the County Clerk’s office
  • Purchase a $2,000 bond from a bonding company that covers the two-year registration term
  • Two photos – size 1” x 1 ½” to be used on identification card (only required for individual).  No photo is required for corporations.
  • Appear in person at the County Clerk’s office with the documentation mentioned above

Filing Fee

  • $107 (cash, money order, or check) payable to the Siskiyou County Clerk
